Storybook Manipulation

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kissed By The Sun Photography @ 9:05 pm

I thought I would try to do another Photoshop manipulation for this weeks project.
To start, I followed to beginning of a tutorial (http://photoshoptutorials.ws/photoshop-tutorials/photo-manipulation/make-a-story-book-come-to-life-in-photoshop.html) to get the first half done.  Then, I thought that the rest of the tutorial
was too boring, and din’t have enough to it so I added my own things to the rest of it.  I added a different road than the one given to use.  And  instead of just placing the clock post on the side of the street; I added two trees, a bench, and a lamp-post right next to the bench.
I had to use the transform tool, to get the bench at the right angle.  Then I added a little light to the lamp.
I also added shadows under the bench, lamp-post, and trees.  After adding what I wanted I finished it by
applying the color effects instructed in the last page of the tutorial.

Fantasy Manipulation

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kissed By The Sun Photography @ 7:42 pm

For this weeks project I chose to do something different.  Darrien Sisk was my inspiration, because she is always making manipulations and things on Photoshop; and I wanted to try it too.    I looked at a whole bunch of fantasy landscapes on google, and didn’t really find an exact tutorial I wanted to do; so I just used all the ideas put together and made my own creation.
For this, I used a forest landscape for the background.  Then I used a moon picture and placed it in the sky, and erased around it.  For the foreground I found a picture of a prince on a horse, and a dragon, and placed both of those in the land.  It took me about three days to do the erasing around those pictures!  Then after that I just flattened the image, used an HDR filter, and applied a vignette around the edges.
For the second picture, I put the picture back in Photoshop, and tried putting a fog/mist around the bottom of the photo to add more to it.  I’m still not sure which one I like better, (top or bottom) picture. So I just put them both on here.  Overall, I really like how it came out. And next time I do this, I hope I can get it done a little faster so I can do more than one manipulation.

Self Portraits

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kissed By The Sun Photography @ 1:29 am

For this weeks project I had my friend Kylee Hatch take portraits of me back behind the school.

First Photo:

For the first photo I make two background layers, and added the overlay filter to it.
Then I changed the colors to black and white.  After that I removed the moles from my face and neck.
After that I added a vignette around the edges to finish it off.

Second Photo:

For the second photo I cropped the first photo to get a closer look at the picture.
I thought the picture looked better up close.  For the cropped version, all I did was brighten up my eyes,
and add more dark to my makeup.

Third Photo:

For the third photo I first adjusted the levels.  Then I enhanced my eye color, and lip color.
Next I removed blemishes from my face, and added a little more pinkness to the cheeks.
Then I removed the headband that was on the ground next to me, using the clone stamp tool.
Lastly I used the overlay filter on the background image to finish it.

Fourth Photo:

For my fourth photo, I didn’t do much editing.
I adjusted the levels, and used the overlay filter on it.
Then I enhanced lip and eye color.

Fifth Photo:

For my fifth photo, I blurred the images, then used overlay.
then brought the focus back to the eyes, lips, hair, and part of shirt.
Then I make my eyes a little bluer and lips pinker.

Lego World

Filed under: Uncategorized — Kissed By The Sun Photography @ 12:13 am

For this week’s project I wanted to try something different, and unique.
I’ve seen people do this before, but with box robots, and I thought I would try it with
Lego people; because I have a lot of them from when I was younger.  But It was kind of hard to take theses pictures, becasue
I couldnt see what I was taking, since I was at a low angle.  I hade to set the camera on the ground, and keep shooting
until I got one that came out right.  I went and photographed the Lego men, in different places.
I was trying to get the pictures to look more realistic by placing them in real life situations; and real backgrounds.

First Photo:

For my first picture I went to the hitching post, and brought with me a boy and girl lego person.  I tried many
differnt times to get a picture of both the logo people, and the background in focus, but I just couldnt
figure it out- it it wasnt working for me.  So, I had to take one photo that came out with the background
in focus, and another where my forground came in focus, and I photoshoped them both together.
I placed the photo of the lego people in focus, over the photo of the hitching post in focus, and then used the eraser tool
around the people until I got this.

Second Photo:

For my  photo I went around by the lake and found an area of land where there were constrution cones, and gravel.
I placed the two constrution lego men on the ground, and got at an agle to where you could see them and the background.
I thought this one came out really good, because it has a realistic look to it.   For the editing, all I did
was adjust the levals, add a sharpen filter to it, and add a little vinnette to the edges.

Third Photo-

Same as second photo…

Fourth Photo-

For my fourth photo, I went to my backyard, and placed a little lego firetruck in the grass along with 4 lego men.
I tried to make them look like they were working, by having one climb the ladder, and one helping.
Then I also added 2 police man on the sides.  I like the colors in this photo, but I think it was a little too bright in
the background.  For the editing, I had to photoshope out a part of a lego tree that was leaning on the firetruck.
Lastly I used the shapren tool, and adjusted the levals.

Photo 5-

This picture came out to be one of my favorites of them all.  I placed one guy riding up
on a rock, in the foreground, and anotherguy in the background comming from behind him.
This image was taken in a puddle of water outside my house; and since the house is white,
it make the bakckground really bright.  I wish that it wasnt so white, and that the guy in the backgrounds
head didnt blend in so much to the background.
